To register as an Amateur Radio Operator for the 2024 Boston Marathon, you must first have, or create, an account for the BAA's Athletes' Village. The Athletes' Village login page can be found here.



Once you are logged into Athletes' Village, click on the "Volunteers" menu item in the gray bar at the top of the screen.



On the next page, click "To volunteer click here"




Read the instructions on the next page and then click "Next"




Review the code of conduct and waiver on the next page and if you agree to the terms, check the accept/agree boxes in the bottom left of the page. Once checked, click the "Next" button in the lower right of the page




At the top of the next page, confirm your information, then complete any fields that require updates. Once all required fields are filled in, click "Next" in the lower right. (you will see a jacket size chart on this page, it has been removed here to save space)




On the next page, select "General" as your volunteer type and click "Next" in the lower right




On the next page, select "Yes, I am an Amateur Radio Operator" and enter your FCC Callsign and the equipment you have available for race day, then click "Next" in the lower right




On the next page, select "Apply as an Individual" from the drop down list and then click "Next" in the lower right




On the next page, select "Amateur Radio" from the drop down list and then click "Next" in the lower right


On the next page, select your preferred segment from the drop down list and then click "Next" in the lower right.



If you would like to add additional job requests, select "Yes" to repeat the previous step and select other jobs (maximum of three). If you are finished selecting jobs, select "No". When you have made your selection, click "Next" in the lower right.




On the next page, confirm your selections and if correct, select the "Yes" button in the lower left and then click "Next" in the lower right



The next pages gives you the opportunity to donate to a member of the Bank of America Boston Marathon Official Charity Program. If you'd like to make a donation, select "yes," click "Next," and follow the prompts. If not, select "No," and click "Next."


The final page confirms your application and gives you your application confirmation number. You will receive this number in your confirmation email as well, but please make a note of it. If there are issues with your application, this is the number we need in order to work with the BAA to help resolve the issue.


Once you have recorded your application confirmation number, click "Exit Application" in the lower right




Your confirmation email will come from "volunteer@baa.org" and will contain your application confirmation number. Please don't delete this email!
